Hi, I am Georgina Cook! I blog because I relish in "sharing what I love". While there are so many things in life that I love (Cath Kidston, Galaxy chocolate, my husband's eyes, eBay, plucking my eyebrows (i just do...) , and Christmas morning), this blog will focus on my greater passions: crafting, going cool places with my hubby, shopping, decorating and every day life lessons.

Paper Hearts Wall Art

Hello there friends!! This is the first of what will be many craft sharing posts.
I love all things crafty, pretty, and cheap to make... so this was a must do! In our living room we had a huge blank space that really needed something doing to it... so I came up with this!

You will need:
Sellotape
Red paper (small)
Sheet music / old vintage book
Pencil
Scissors
(not exactly extravagent money consuming pieces hey?!)

It looks really nice. Instead of sheet music or a red heart you could customize it and put photographs cut into hearts!!

So first you need to print off some sheet music. Then I would recommend finding a heart shape on google images you like to trace. Then you need to cut out every single heart!! I did 64 (8 rows of 8) so thats 63 sheet music hearts + 1 red heart.

Once you have cut them all out you obviously need to put them on the wall. You can either put them straight on... or you can make them puff out like mine!! If you want them to 'puff out' then carry on with my tutorial.

To do this i cut out strips of paper that were 3.5" long and 1/2" wide. I folded the strips to make a square - each side was 3/4" long and there was a 1/2" overlap on one end - where i could tape the square together. I found this the most time consuming bit!! After that just tape the square to the centre of the heart on the back. Don't get it?  Here's some pics to give you a better idea:

Yeah, as you can see from the last pic.... it takes a looooong time. :P Then you just need to tape them to the wall. This is also a tedious process... but so worth it!! To  be honest half of these little things were just sat on my sofa for about a week, and every so often i would pin a couple up!! I'm so bad. Afterwards you will have a new gorgeous piece of art created by yourself up on the wall. Voila!!
